Celebrating Our Collective Impact: The Red, White and DO Gala
Once a year, the New American Pathways’ community gathers to share an evening filled with goodwill, purpose, and celebration at the Red, White and DO Gala. We don our evening best, greet fellow supporters, listen to inspiring stories, and raise our paddles. For one night, we all feel unified, hopeful, and deeply moved.
The Gala is an important milepost in New American Pathways’ yearly calendar. We’re all aware that the current administration has been dismantling our nation’s traditional refugee resettlement system. Programs have been suspended and travel bans put in place. Basic needs assistance has been withdrawn and legal protections have been stripped away. The US is no longer a welcoming, generous haven to families who have waited years to build new lives. This upheaval makes our support of New American Pathways that much more important.
The Gala is one of the ways we can demonstrate our commitment to supporting New American Pathways’ mission to help refugees and Georgia thrive. By bringing together our diverse community of volunteers, employees, advocates, board members and advisors, it reminds us that each of our unique talents, when used together, makes a difference to our newest neighbors. The work is challenging, but the Gala gives us a collective moment to step back, recognize how our actions have helped the refugee community over the past year, and celebrate that impact. It reminds us of the power of choosing welcome over indifference. More importantly, the Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year, providing the economic foundation for New American Pathways’ work.
