AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. From mentoring students to supporting disaster recovery, helping older adults age with dignity, and tackling other pressing needs, AmeriCorps helps communities across the country.

AmeriCorps Project RISE (Refugee and Immigrant Success through Education) is a service opportunity that supports all departments and programs at New American Pathways. AmeriCorps members are part of a team of 14 enrolled for service from September to July every year.

In the process of improving the lives of others, AmeriCorps members are challenged to use their unique talents and skills for the betterment of the refugee community. AmeriCorps service exposes members to new experiences, people of diverse backgrounds, and knowledge about their communities. We’re proud to carry forward a legacy cohort that began in 2008 through our predecessor organizations, RRISA and RFS.

AmeriCorps members apply for a particular area of service that spans across the programs at New AP, but all members work in our Bright Futures After School program. Project RISE members participate in service projects and enrichment activities together throughout their year of service.
